  20. Odd. I always had a sneaking suspicion, since Hayes owns PPI, that the 
  21. Hayes and PPI PCMCIA modems were the same. Last week I noticed that PPI 
  22. had released a v4.3 flash updater. I haven't noticed a big difference 
  23. in reliability, but then this modem has done pretty well for me anyway.

  25. Interesting, though, that Hayes and PPI release new firmware at about the
  26. same time, with identical version numbers.
